Sustainability We Use & Follow For Cleaner & Greener Earth
🌱Our Sustainability Vision
At MI.RA. Knitwear, sustainability is not just a feature—it’s the foundation.
From the very first thread, we’re building a manufacturing ecosystem that respects nature, values people, and delivers products with purpose. Our state-of-the-art facility in Surat is powered by next-generation Shima Seiki flat knitting machines, enabling us to create precision-engineered garments with zero-waste design, no fabric cutting, and minimal resource usage.
But we don’t stop at efficiency.
We actively source eco-conscious yarns—including biodegradable, recycled, and naturally dyed fibers. Our aim is to create fashion that not only looks good, but also does good: clothing designed to last, or responsibly return to nature through recycling, re-spinning, or composting.
This isn’t just a product promise—it’s a mindset:
Make less. Make better. Make it matter.
🧵1. Zero-Waste Knitting
Powered by India’s first Shima Seiki NSVR 123, our flat knitting technology eliminates fabric cutting waste entirely.
Each garment is engineered stitch by stitch, directly to shape, resulting in:
- Up to 30% less raw material usage vs. traditional cut-and-sew
- Zero post-production fabric waste
- Reduced energy and water consumption during production
🌿2. Sustainable Yarns
We collaborate with leading yarn innovators to source eco-conscious and performance-driven fibers such as:
- GOTS-certified organic cotton
- Recycled viscose, cotton, and polyester blends
- Biodegradable yarns like CiCLO™—engineered to break down like natural fibers in landfill or marine environments
- Naturally dyed yarns from RSWM’s Aroma Division—crafted using chemical-free, herbal extracts
- EcoGold Acrylic (with CiCLO)—luxuriously soft, responsibly developed
⚙️3. Smart Manufacturing
Our Surat-based unit is built to minimize waste and maximize design intelligence:
- Shima Seiki knitting = precision + programmatic flexibility
- In-house finishing = lower transport emissions
- Digital sampling = reduced material waste at prototyping stage
- On-demand, small-batch production = minimal inventory surplus
🔁4. Circular Design & End-of-Life Thinking
- Recyclable knits that can be returned and re-spun
- Compostable garments made from 100% natural yarns and herbal dyes.
🌍5. Made in India. Meant for the World.
We believe India can lead the global shift toward ethical, scalable, and stylish sustainability—not as a low-cost hub, but as a center of innovation and responsibility.
MI.RA. Knitwear is a reflection of that belief:
Fashion with values. Manufacturing with vision.
